What You Will Do
This is a hands-on technical role, day to day activities include:
- Delivering reliable, production-ready web software across both backend (PHP/Laravel/CakePHP) and frontend (TypeScript/Vue/Nuxt) systems.
- Variety of responsibilities from building new features to leading major framework upgrades.
- Acting as a technology specialist within a small, agile product team.
- Proposing solutions that enhance user experience and drive measurable business outcomes.
What We Can Expect from You
- Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- 8+ years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining web-based applications using modern frameworks and development tools.
- Experience experimenting with AI-driven workflows to boost productivity and improve product quality.
- Proven experience implementing automated tests and ensuring code quality.
- Hands-on experience designing schemas and building applications with RDBMS.
- Experience working with a wide range of AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, Cognito.
- Strong foundation in web application security best practices.
- Team development experience, providing feedback through code reviews and pair programming.
- Status of residence:
- For those in Japan: must have a working visa valid for more than six months
- For those outside of Japan: remote contract work is available until a visa can be prepared
Bonus Points
- Experience working with UX Designers & exposure to tools such as Figma.
- Hands-on experience developing and operating applications with Laravel, CakePHP, etc.
- Proficiency in building user interfaces with Vue.js or Nuxt.js.
- Practical experience developing and operating applications using TypeScript.
- Strong background in component design and reusable UI development.
- Experience working with UX Designers & exposure to tools such as Figma.
- Experience designing system architectures and selecting middleware to meet product and scalability requirements.
- Hands-on experience developing with modular monolith or microservices architectures.
- Experience with HR Tech, like people analytics, AI-powered interviews, or recruiting platforms, is a big plus!
